5. Caring, Nature and Resilience
Caregiving reshapes you.
For nine years, my world revolved around supporting a loved one through cognitive decline. It was emotionally and physically demanding.
Nature became my grounding force.
Walking outside, even briefly, recalibrated the nervous system. Observing birds reminded me that life continues in cycles larger than our immediate struggles.
Resilience is not about being unbreakable.
It is about having places that restore you.
For me, that place was — and remains — the land.
