The conditions of a solitary bird are five:
The first, that it flies to the highest point;
the second, that it does not suffer for company,
not even of its own kind;
the third, that it aims its beak to the skies;
the fourth, that it does not have a definite colour
the fifth, that is sings very softly.

Rewilding the Heart
is about
remembering how to live through care
for animals, land and one another
in a world that has forgotten how long
real things take.
Our Story
I believe we are all born with a unique blueprint — a heart that is wild, curious and untamed. Over time, that wildness can soften beneath the steady demands of daily life. In a world that feels increasingly hurried and uncertain.
Living amongst nature — our animals, our bushland setting, choosing to take the time to notice the shifting light between shadow and sun — is more essential than ever .
For almost a decade, we cared for my father as he lived courageously with Alzheimer’s disease. That season of life revealed many quiet truths. Through it all, it was the land that steadied us. Without the changing seasons, the open sky, the animals moving gently around us, the adversities we all encountered would have been far more difficult.
We live in rural Tasmania in the Southern Midlands, surrounded by ancient landscapes, neighbouring sheep and cattle, and the enduring rhythm of weather and wind. Here, we are slowly rewilding our land, protecting wildlife where we can, and learning to live with greater attentiveness to place.
It is here that I draw — wildlife, our beloved horses and dogs, and the animals that shape our days. For many years the gift to draw lay quietly waiting. Caring for my father taught me that time is not guaranteed, and that choosing to live fully in the present is an act of courage. Now, in my late fifties, I am honouring that gift and allowing the story within me to unfold through art.
Through commissioned portraits and original works, I seek to honour the deep bond between people and their animals — preserving memory, care, and love in a form that endures.
